Dedicated Chinese website for Bassetti built on WordPress and Elementor, re-engineered for China hosting, ICP compliance and local performance.

The brand

Bassetti Group is a European leader in digital transformation solutions, helping manufacturers optimize processes through innovation management software. The team needed that expertise to reach Chinese audiences directly, on a website built for the local internet.

The challenge

Bassetti needed a dedicated Chinese website for their local market. Their international site ran on WordPress and Elementor, but China’s internet operates differently. Western hosting, Google integrations and common APIs hit the Great Firewall and either crawl or fail to load. The goal was to duplicate the website for Chinese users, in Chinese, accessible within China. In reality, everything had to be rebuilt from scratch to work behind the firewall.

Our approach

We started with compliance and infrastructure. First, .cn domain registration and ICP license application. The ICP, Internet Content Provider, license is mandatory for any website hosted in mainland China, a passport for the site that involves government review of business credentials and content plans. Next came migration to China-based cloud hosting. We audited every external resource call. Google Fonts were replaced with China-friendly alternatives. Google Analytics was swapped for local solutions. Third-party APIs hosted outside China were relocated or eliminated. The WordPress and Elementor stack stayed, but the technical foundations were rebuilt. Every plugin, script and dependency was reviewed. If it called outside China’s borders, it was removed or replaced.

Results

Bassetti’s Chinese website launched within weeks. It loads fast, with no blocked Google resources timing out, and delivers Chinese visitors the smooth experience European visitors enjoy on the international site. The site is fully compliant with Chinese internet regulations, and the technical cleanup pushed performance ahead of many locally built competitors. Speed matters in China’s mobile-first market, and Bassetti now has that advantage. The website is live at https://bassetti-group.cn/.
